Mornings Keep Happening.

10 hours of sleep later I'm ... well I guess I'm still a rather sleepy guy, but not so much as before. Now to see about coffee.

The Vultures are Circling.

I just got one of those Nigerian scam emails, but with a twist this time. It claims to be from a 16-year old who lost his entire family in the tsunamis and needs help from an adult to get their inheritance.

An Ode to Dental Floss.

I finished the last of a large spool of dental floss last night, and as I was standing at the sink, staring at the old spool, it occurred to me that I have had that spool of floss longer than I've had most of my friends. I already owned that floss when I bought this house roughly 15 years ago. It has not only cleaned my teeth, but has served as an inspiration. It was the basis for a mono-filiment dispenser in a cyber-punk game I ran 10 years ago (with hilarious results). I was inspired because it seemed to have an endless supply and I worked out that were it mono-filiment the spool could hold roughly a light-years length of the stuff, rather than the measly 300 yards it says on the box.

And now its all gone. Truly is it the end of an era.

Microbes Triumphant.

It seems like everyone I know on LJ is either just getting over a sickness, or is still in its grip. Lets see if I can remember them all:

• _sps_ was sick last week, but says he is feeling better now.
• azrhey was also sick most of last week but when I saw her at the NYE party, she seemed fine. (Then again, she's one of those people who would still look beautiful 6 weeks after they died, so I can't be sure.)
• hub_ has come down with mono, so he counts as a sickie.
• denizsarikaya is feeling under the weather.
• arymede has come down with something flu-like. OMG: I just noticed she shares a birthday with denizsarikaya and bohemianpsyche!
• kayleighb is down with a nasty cold.
• jenni_the_oddcan't keep anything down.

Is that everyone, or did I miss someone?

Cabin Fever?

Lets see, its now the 4th and the last time I was out with friends was on the 1st. So, this is the third day I've been hanging around at home. That seems to be a little early for developing cabin fever, but I'm suddenly feeling like it would be fun to go out and do something. Of course, I'm broke and almost everyone I know is sick, so things may be someone tricky to work out.
