Revenge of the Braindead.

Since I am a braindead zombie, I thought I would spam my friends list with funny video clips that I got from _grey_knight over the last month.

First, if you are American, remember to vote. Second, try not to be brain dead. Dumb people get themselves into trouble, while smart people are supposed to be able to get themselves out of it.

Actually, my experience is that Dumb people are happily oblivous to the Doom that is thundering down upon them, while the smart folks are fully aware just how Doomed they are...

US policy threatens Canadian's Privacy.

According to a recent article in slashodot, the Privacy Commisioner of BC has recommended an immediate ban on the outsourcing of sensitive data transactions to the US, as the Patriot Act gives the US Government the right to pretty much do as they wish with any data they get their hands on, by any methods.

Restrictions lifted on foreign satellite TV systems

You may have noticed that that previous Slashdot link also had a pointer to this bit of good news. (Warning: That link will expire in a week. The Gazette doesn't give free access to its archives.) It seems that the laws making it illegal for Canadians to subscribe to television programming via foreign satellite systems was struck down because it interfered with Canadian's rights to free expression as defined under our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

The CRTC has a year to try and come up with a non-infringing version of the law, but I don't see how that is too likely to happen.

Halloween Party.

I'm going to a Halloween party tonight. I think I'll just end up dusting off an old costume from one of the parties I used to hold every year, until financial constraints put an end to that. I've been told that I can just come as I am, but I really hate going to a costume party uncostumed. Still, It starts in 4 hours, and I haven't even tried to FIND the old costumes to see what I can piece together.

I guess I'll just wing it in a few hours and see if I can pull something together.
