I'm trying to be awake, really I am. Maybe more coffee. *LOTS* more coffee...

It would seem that some species of fish, bivalves and whales live to be over 200 years old! This was first noted in the 1930's but has not, until recently, been a subject of research. Naturally there are a number of folks who would like to find a way to cause this same thing to happen in humans. More details can be found here.

Someone has discovered a way of shifting the frequency of light by passing it through a photonic crystal that is undergoing rapid compression due to a shock wave. It seems to be extremely efficient (near 100%). I'm sure this new technology has an enormous range of uses.

Aaargh!

Since tuesday I've been struggling to write a business plan for the new avionics company that has hired me. The technology and market advantage parts I could wing -- I at least know what we want to sell and why we think people would buy it.

No, the big problem is the entire section on How the Avionics Market works -- which I don't know. Not only that, most of the business is conducted behind closed doors, so very few people know this stuff. One of the people who *DO* know this stuff though, is the investor I will be presenting this to. He has his own avionics company and knows all the ins and outs. So, now I feel like I'm a heathen preaching about cathlocism to the pope.

Yeargh!  So, I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible and not end up saying anything that is obviously stupid.

Grumpble.

Sleep.

If I'm going to have time to eat breakfast and then meet peoples for mountain hill climbing tomorrow, then I'll need to be up at 7:00. Thus, my bedtime is... 5 minutes ago. Oops. I'd better head off to sleep then! Gnight!
