Well, I dithered alot but I actually got done all of the things that I had promised I would do today, and even took care of my chores. Of course, with all of my dithering because I didn't want to do said things, I didn't actually accomplish anything that I wanted to do, like upgrade my server.

So, less bleah maybe, but still bleah.

Tried sleeping, but nothing happened, so I checked my e-mail. Well, it looks like I've already been paid for the EBay auction of my issue of White Dwarf #1.

After paying EBay their cut, I find myself $46.24 richer. Not too shabby at all. Now all I have to do is head over to the Post office tomorrow and mail it. While I'm there I'm planning to buy a number of cardboard mailers and some mylar bags as I have many more magazines and comics that I would like to unload.

So, the Microbytes folks have not really impressed me. Or they have, and not in a good way. I sent them an email 4 weeks ago saying that I wanted a particular system that I had put together using their online form.

Well, the form had a bug in it and they had to clarify something. Fine. They even fixed their form so it wouldn't happen again (although I noticed they introduced the potential for a different error at the same time -- typical).

A week later I phoned to ask on progress and was told that they hadn't reallized I actually wanted the system, and wasn't just asking for a quote. WTF?

So, I tell them YES I want the dang system. Two weeks ago they said they had everything but the motherboard, and didn't know what the delay was.

One week ago they told me that the motherboard was discontinued but I could have an upgrade to the latest board for $5 cheaper. Okaaay. Why did that take them so long to find out though?

Today I got an email from them saying that they have everything put together EXCEPT the monitor. They do have the next-cheapest one in stock though, which will be $20 more. Since the cheapest ones are in high demand, my guess is they gave it to someone else during the 3 weeks they delayed getting my system put together. At this point the $20 is not a big deal, but I'm not exactly happy with the overall service I've had from these folks.

Okay. Rant over. At least I'll be able to pick up the system today as planned. FINALLY!

So, there's a new theory floating around that the universe is, in fact, an infandibulum (although you Vonnegut fans will note that they are NOT saying its chronosynclastic) and with a total volume of only 1032 cubic light years. Thats itsy! Anyway, the particular infandibular shape it has is known as a Picard Horn. I wonder what Star Trek writers will have to say about that?
