Setbacks and Problems.

swestrupSo, it seems that there is trouble with BOTH of the new ram chips. The first I already mentioned, and the second is only recognized as being half the size it actually is. Bleah. Anyway, at least the machine has some functionality so I've put all of the PCI cards back in and hooked everything up so that I can start the installation of XP on the new HD.
Tomorrow my sweetie and I are going to return the nogoodnik RAM and check out various used-computer stores around town in the hopes of finding some RAM that the machine will recognize.
On that note, I'm heading off to bed now as the meager 5 hours I had last night are taking their toll. At least I expect to be able to sleep tonight because while I still have problems, I think I'll be able to solve them. That makes a big difference.
