Frozen Hell.
Dec. 8th, 2008 07:58 amYesterday morning the softly falling snow flakes seemed rather poetic. Last night when I went to take out the garbage I discovered that the temperature had plunged and we had what felt like gale-force winds blowing. I was frozen in the short time it took to sprint to the curb, drop off my garbage, and sprint back inside. (I hadn't bothered to put a coat on for such a short venture outside.)
Now, when I wake up, I see its -20°C (-4°F) outside with the wind making it feel like -32°C (-26°F). This is insanely cold for this time of year, even here. What's more, its supposed to bounce back to +8°C (46°F).
Now, my plan for this morning was to get showered and dressed, and stroll the six or so blocks north to a breakfast place I know, and after eating I'd drop in at the nearby voting station and vote in the Provincial elections, before strolling home.
Now, I think, I may take a bus instead, both there and back. Brrrrr.
