The Sleeped
Sep. 29th, 2008 08:01 amHad a busy weekend because my brother Marcus was here. We spent Saturday shopping so that I could visit a dozen shops in the time it normally takes me (on the bus) to visit one. Many purchases were made, much money was spent.
Having gotten all of my weekend chores done on Saturday (I even did my laundry), we were free on Sunday to do touristical things, so we went to the Winchester Mystery House. Its a 160-room house that the crazy wife of the founder of Winchester rifles built continuously until she died. We only saw about 40 of the 160 rooms on the tour, but we still ended walking for over a mile inside the house. Heck, there was one staircase that was over 100 feet long and only went up 9 feet.
Had a great but tiring time there, and kept wishing that Mom was there or maybe
azrhey, since both would have loved the insane architecture.
Afterward we came back to my place and rested our tired feet for an hour or so before going out for an early light supper.
Around 6:00 pm Marcus said his farewells and went off to visit a friend in Berkeley. I puttered around for about an hour, reading email and such, but couldn't keep my eyes open. I usually sleep in on the weekends but hadn't had the chance with Marcus here, and I was feeling it. So I gave up and went to bed around 7:00 pm.
I had expected to wake up before my Monday morning alarm, but I didn't. I guess I really did need over 12 hours sleep. So, now I'm awake and alert and getting ready to start my week. If only I'd had a few more hours sleep...
