Going Away Thingy.

Since there has been some talk of a going-away get-together for me, I've been thinking I'd like to visit the Old Dublin one last time before they shut it down on the 23rd and move to a new location. So, here's the plan: we all meet there after work on Thursday the 14th! Its open invite. Anyone can (and should!) come to see me off. I'm gonna go now and figure out how to create an event on facebook for it...

While I think I've already said goodbye to you last week, it's still a good excuse for a party. In case Geoffrey wants to come along -- does this place admit minors? If (as I suspect) it does and just refuses to serve them alcohol, that would be fine.

It's a pub in the Irish tradition, obviously enough, so it's quite likely they'll be accommodating. It's as much a restaurant as it is a bar. That said, calling to confirm makes sense.

Unless it changed in the last couple of years, they used to alow minors accompanied by parent(s). Although they frown on young children, I think teenagers would be fine. You may still want to call to confirm but I am pretty sure there wouldn't be a problem with teens. It is also a question of behaviour, as kids running everywhere are not fun to have around in a pub.

It's behind a parking lot across from Place Ville Marie. It looks like you have to go in through the rear entrance. If you don't know that, it's easy to miss.
