Beets?

Linda just made beets with our (late) supper, and I liked them. I've never really liked beets before. Well, not until I had some in Denmark a couple of years ago, but these were nothing like that. I wonder if the reason is:

• I have a more mature palate now?
• My tastes buds have withered away with age?
• I've never had good beets before?
• I've never honestly given them a chance before?
• Mercury is in retrograde?

Any ideas?

I dunno, but tell me what she did, because I've never liked beets either.

She sliced them fairly thin and steamed them. Then just before serving she tossed them with butter and lemon juice.

I can buy the healthy part but... sexy? I'm not really into sex with vegetables, regardless of who I dated in high school.

Sexy, yes! Deep red...earthy....rooty....and the greens, when steamed, oh, so good!
