So... Tired.
Jun. 11th, 2008 03:25 amI just woke up. I crashed last night around 6:00 pm. I was just too tired to keep my eyes open. I slept nine hours, but I feel like I needed 12. I'm still dead tired. However, after tossing and turning for 40 minutes, it became clear that I wasn't going to fall back asleep, no matter how tired I feel. So, I suppose I'm starting my day now.
My guess is that the tired is what I shall call 'environmental exhaustion'. I'm not used to this heat, and although we have A/C and its quite nice in the house I spent two days visiting folks and wandering around in the heat when it first hit, and I think I strained my heat-regulation dohickey. I found I spent most of yesterday dead tired and cringing at the thought of going outside, much as one cringes at the thought of lifting something heavy the day after doing too big a work-out at the gym.
Seriously, going from single-digit temperatures to record-breaking heat in a week is not something one should expect to endure.

Drink TONS of water. I know, you likely already know this, but it is such an easy thing NOT to do.
