What a <time interval>
Apr. 24th, 2008 09:15 pmWe just got back from the Hospital, where we've been for the last 26 hours or so, because yesterday
taxlady had an episode of what we thought could have been a stroke or a TIA, but which now appears most likely to have been a rather bizarre migraine. More tests will follow in the future (probably after tax season), but for now we're home.
As I've been awake for 36 hours or so, I am heading off to bed. I've brushed my teeth, had a shower (which I desperately needed) and I'm typing this. As soon as I'm dry, I'm hitting the sheets. And speaking of migraines, it will be a minor miracle if I don't have one tomorrow when I wake up, as this sort of sleep imbalance is one of my major triggers.

Date: 2008-04-25 02:54 pm (UTC)From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Migraine#Signs_and_symptoms:
"Other symptoms of the aura phase can include auditory or olfactory hallucinations, temporary dysphasia, vertigo, tingling or numbness of the face and extremities, and hypersensitivity to touch."
"Dysphasia is a language disorder in which there is an impairment of speech and of comprehension of speech."
I tend to get auras without the headaches for the most part (for which I am eternally grateful), but that was the weirdest aura I've ever had.

Date: 2008-04-25 03:42 pm (UTC)I get the (usually) painless aura migraines too. Mine are really pretty, with rainbow colours. They asked all about that.
