Female Telegraphy
Apr. 17th, 2008 10:43 amHere's an interesting article that could stir some debate (and has, in the comments). Its based on a pair of recent studies. One showed that men often misinterpret female signals. They're as likely to misconstrue sexual interest as mere friendliness as they are to misinterpret friendliness as sexual intent. The other showed that all people, even those who report themselves as highly empathic, fail to correctly interpret signals unless the other party is careful to project. In other words, folks who want to be hard to read, usually are.
This brings up the obvious question. Are most women deliberately hard to read (even if subconsciously) because that has historically proven to be an effective sexual strategy?
