So, [livejournal.com profile] taxlady's fever peaked today and we decided we really did have to get her to a medical clinic, as its been getting harder and harder to keep her fever down. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hendrikboom who drove out from his place to give us a lift to the clinic, we managed to get her to the Brunswick Medical Center without too much trouble. Then we had to wait roughly 4 hours to be seen by a doctor, then to have tests done, and then to be seen by a doctor again.

In the end it looks like [livejournal.com profile] taxlady has a bladder infection and a round of strong antibiotics should do the trick. So, now we're back home, prescriptions filled, and are hoping that she'll soon be back on her feet.

I'm happy you had someone to drive you, I contacted steph about it but he couldn't make it fast enough...one car/5 people= le suck.

bladder infection!! causing such misery? poor her :( I loathe them more than anything. Fortunately the antibiotics kick in fast.

Poor thing. Give her my best. Have her drink lots of cranberry juice and eat yogurt!

I already asked him to get me some unsweetened cranberry juice (sweet is just off the radar now) and I don't think I should eat yogourt while I'm taking oral antibiotics, you know the antibiotic can get used up killing off friendly lacto-bacilli.

Glad to hear a diagnosis was made. Hope the antibiotics do the trick.

You're welcome. As I said in person, it was inconvenient, but you're worth the trouble.

Ah, I'm glad you went. I had a kidney infection once and it was wretched. I hope the antibiotics do their job promptly and with minimal side effects.
