I am still sick, and my brand new computer has just started making dying computer noises. Its still under warantee, of course, but I do NOT have the time or energy to deal with this right now!
I don't know quite what it was, although it stopped not long after I made that post. It was a whirr-chunk noise that vibrated the whole computer case. It sounded like either:
a) My hard drive was endlessly retrying on a bad track, or b) The main CPU fan was starting up, unbalancing and stopping.
Since its stopped, I'm going to assume it was just some kind of loud teething pain for the new system, unless it happens again.
