Oh, dear. Same book. I'd forgotten about the Dymple's Sausage Cake. I was going to give a URL for an example but, while I find several sausage cake recipes on-line, none of them quite elicits the same reaction as this one. It calls for the usual stuff: raisins, walnuts, flour, spices, sugar but it diverges with coffee, a pound of sausage meat, and a cup of gum drops (all flavours except licorice). I kid you not.

I guess there was a reason we should have bought yogourt - it's in most of my cake recipes.
