I've been wonder who exactly the five members of the "Surreal Six" should be. The 'sixth' member is more of a conceptual construct than an actual teammate, you see.

So far all I've got are:

  • Non-Sequitur Lass -- Her powers and behaviour change radically from moment to moment, and seem to have little, if any, relation to what's going on.
  • The Coffee-Table Kid -- He can create and dismiss a seemingly infinite number of coffee tables, of any style or substance that has actually ever been used for that purpose.
Any other ideas out there?

I've always had in the back of my imagination a character called the Scarlet Ibex. He walks around in a red costume with long, straight horns. No powers to speak of, just lots of form and no substance.

Apparently ibexes have curved horns. I'm now wondering what corvine I'm picturing. Then again, having the wrong horns would work for such a character, wouldn't it.

I appear to have been thinking of an ORYX.

I wonder if M. Pas-Une-Pipe has a cutout through to an inexplicably blue sky where his head should be? He has the power to lovingly articulate a fish through the cordillera of your menopause.

You have to have one whose name is just Murphy. Has the uncanny ability to self-generate physics-bending, space-time continuum-ignoring "coincidental" disasters at precisely the wrong moments for maximum effect. He himself is immune to his own tragedies, and may in fact even get high off of the lamentations his pandemonium ensues.

The Exquisite Corpse -- a shambling zombie drawn by four different artists (none of whom can see what the others have drawn). Different parts of him (her? it? them?) are constantly morphing into parts of other people or objects.

Dream Fish -- can enter people's dreams and mess with their unconscious minds. May be the product of the dreams of one or more other characters. Not a fish, and looks nothing like one.

The Irrationalist -- wherever he goes, laws break down. People behave insanely (usually temporarily), the laws of physics fall apart, anarchy erupts -- sometimes for good, sometimes for ill, without rhyme or reason.

That Obscure Object of Desire -- aka "Desire" for short -- she is rarely seen, only sensed as a strong and unreasonable longing.
