So, I accidentally deleted an important driver file a week or so ago. I didn't think much of it, since I was trying to uninstall the service it was a part of anyway. Today, for the first time, I started seeing weird glitches in Windows behaviour. Then again, I spent much of yesterday installing and uninstalling strange beta 3d software without rebooting, so I thought it was just that. Well, when I rebooted I got a message informing me that the file I thought deleted was trying to corrupt my hard drive upon boot. I was presented with the option of rolling my kernel stack back to the last known working checkpoint, so I did that. Now everything is working fine again. Makes me think that in THIS version of Windows, at least, they may have got something right...

Are you praising the stylings of Bill Gates, and his eXtra Pathetic OS?

Well, thats one of the first times I've seen the rollback work. Normally it doesn't work very well. I'm glad it worked for you though.
