swestrupWell, the main raid on webigail (my web/mail server) is borked. Its a RAID5, so theoretically two drives out of the three have to fail in order for it to stop working. This seems to have happened.
There is a hard sector error on one drive, and the second inexplicably only registers as a 'spare' not a 'member'. No idea what caused that. The third drive seems fine, but that won't be enough to get anything working.
Right now I'm running a non-destructive drive recovery program on (what I hope is) the defective drive. If I can get the bad disk working I can create a working RAID with the two non-spares and use that to upgrade the spare to a full member. If not, it may be a long time before the mail server is back up.
