I was sure I'd posted this YouTube clip earlier, but I can find no evidence of it. IMHO this is the best answer I've yet seen to the Fermi Paradox and underscores why its imperative that we develop the technology to transition to silicon-based intelligence.

Yes, it is a very good adaptation, although IIRC the short story mentions a few other races with meat-like properties.
