So, [livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I were kinda looking forward to having some folks over this weekend and/or today. It didn't happen, and I now find I don't know anyone's state. When does [livejournal.com profile] azrhey have to go back to work? Is anyone else available for visits, or should we just try again in a few weeks???

of course we would want to include you - the dim sum could be put aside for later - frankly it's a bit of a problem for me too as far as expenses go - need to get back to chris to find out what he wants. Maybe you could contact him too.

sorry, basically trying to fit things in - don't know what chris wants so not sure if dim sum can be called off but still would like to include you guys so a potluck party seems to be more appropriate - sent chris an email to this effect - will see where it goes. Keep you posted of course.
but i do hope we can have some sort of house party in any case at some time in the near future - waiting for more input from the other bd people.

A party could be done at our house. It's big enough. Of course it is out in the boonies, but I could pick people up in Point-Claire, Dorval, or at the Roxboro train station. That would make the trip much quicker. We also have sleeping accomodations for a few people, so going home the next day is a possibility.

This is so weird I'm not sure I believe it, but I saw a poster at the Metro station that said you can now only ride the commuter train with a monthly pass. No more tickets being sold.

I mean, that's bizarre, but I don't think my French is so bad that I failed to understand a twelve-word sentence....

Yikes. I'll have to phone and ask a person tomorrow. That would be terrible. What are they trying to do? Prove that we don't need commuter trains?

I had a look at the website, and it appears that it was just a terribly worded poster. Apparently the deal is that they've de-integrated their fare structures from the STM; it's the supplemental tickets that have gone away. So the poster that says 'from jan 1 only TRAIN passes will be accepted' was *intended* to be read as 'CAM passes will be rejected'. It's those bloody green-circle traffic signs all over again!

Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for checking. It's not as bad, but it still bums me out.
