Yay Intarwebs!
Jul. 9th, 2006 01:30 pmThe Bell technician hasn't shown yet (we were asked if it was okay for him to come "sometime between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM), but I suspect he's not goiing to show. You see, we've had connectivity since sometime late last night. We suddenly went from a really crappy line, to a good signal.
Since the problem was most likely at one of the Bell switching stations, my bet is that someone did a line test last night, found a problem, and corrected it. If that's so, then the technician probably won't show today. Last time I had connectivity troubles I never saw a Bell technician either. I just got phone calls and the guy saying 'so, try it now. How's that?'.
Of course, on the other hand, the fixed connectivity might be due to ongoing, unrelated jiggery-pokery at our switching station, which the technician knows nothing about. In which case he'll call or show up in a few hours and not be able to find a problem...
