Coffee Aroma
Jun. 19th, 2006 12:05 pmI have been drastically cutting down on my Coffee consumption lately. A few years ago I gave up regular drinking of caffinated coffee because I found that having any after roughly noon would keep me up all night. So, at home I usually make decaf.
Still, I was drinking one or two pots of coffee a day. Not long ago I was reading about some of the research into coffee consumption and decided to cut way back. Now I typically make myself two decaf esspresso alonge's when I get up, and stick to green tea or water for the rest of the day.
I still drink coffee outside of the house, because I've found very few places that have a non-sweet alternative to coffee. I suppose that I could frequent tea houses (I grew up drinking tea, not coffee), but last time I checked tea in such places was 2-3 times as expensive per volume as coffee.
In any case, I may one day give up my morning espressos, but right now I just spent five minutes holding my second coffee of the day, warmth spreading through my hands as I cupped the large bowl-like mug, and just inhaling the steam and aroma. That experience is one I'm loathe to give up.
And now, I suppose, I should finish writing this and actually drink it.
