Happy Foodification.
May. 7th, 2006 11:10 pmA few days ago I blogged about a disappointing day in which we failed to go to Shahi Palace as planned because they are closed Tuesdays. We decided this evening to retry the plan, since it had failed so abysmally last time.
Well, this time the place was open, and we consumed copious amounts of really tasty Pakistani cuisine. By the time we were done we were pretty much stuffed, but we decided we wanted desert anyway. Now, as good as the food is at Shahi Palace otherwise, I can't really recommend the deserts there. Instead we decided to go to Cheaters since it was nearby and we'd never been. Like in the review I linked to, we were surprised to find it more than just a desert play like Calories.
In seemed to have a very nice selection of foods, and the desert list was extensive, although we were surprised they only had a few choices of cheesecake. They more than made up for than in having a large selection of fruit, ice-cream and crepe-based deserts. As Terry said, any place that offers 8 different types of chocolate fondue has got to be doing something right.
In the end, Terry had a Baileys cheesecake,
taxlady had a "Death by Chocolate" cake, and I had a Banana Royale. Ooh, but it was good!
So, we are now all home again, and quite stuffed but happy. THIS is what the last outing should have been like.
