Wikipedian Discoveries.
May. 5th, 2006 10:20 amToday, I learned about the Great Unicorn of the Pleistocene era (which ended 10,000 years ago). (Image here) It was a relative of the rhino, only bigger, with a single sharp horn on its head. I'm sure that could be worked into a fantasy novel...

though I recently came accross the Body Modification edition of wikipedia while reading stuff on piercings and tattooings. And by using the random page generator within that subset, I found things that nightmares are made of :)

Date: 2006-05-05 02:38 pm (UTC)What I found interesting was the description of the behaviour - the unicorn picked horse riders out of the saddle and killed them, but left the horse alone. Now this to me sounds like it was intelligent enough to want to kill the parasite on the fellow equine - quite the herd instinct.....
