While hauling out today's garbage to the curb, I found someone had just got a new BBQ, and had thrown out the box. Its a big box. Its a very big box. It is, finally, after over a year of looking, a sufficiently big box!

Now I just have to buy some foam and I shall be able to ship my humongous antique monitor to that museum in California.

The screen is only about 18", but the case itself is absolutely HUGE. It was a high-resolution graphics monitor back in the days when monitors were text only. Its absolutely packed with banks of circuit boards and old-style integrated circuits, and weighs more than 50 lbs.

you know, that it is going to cost you a fortune to ship something that heavy from Quebec to Calinfornia. That is a donation of more than just the monitor. :)

Actually, the guy has already sent me the FedEx shipping labels so the cost gets billed to him. I wouldn't be shipping it that far if I had to pay, and he knows it. He's even offered to reimburse me for the cost of the foam packing.
