Last night we got a phone call from vinosister, who never, ever, posts in her LJ. She's a friend of a friend that we only ever traditionally see once a year, on christmas eve at libie's Christmas dinner. (And she never uses her LJ either...) Since libie isn't doing her dinner this year, we weren't going to be seeing either her or vinosister, so she found our phone number and gave us a call.

It was a very nice thing to do. I've always been rather fond of the lady, but as I very rarely see her, I would never have tried to phone her like that. (Right or wrong, my usual assumption is that folks don't like me, aren't interested in me, and would prefer not to hear from me -- until I have ovewhelming evidence otherwise.)

So, now I know that she does like us enough to go out of her way to wish us a Merry Christmas, and I find that very pleasing indeed.
