By my calculations I've now been awake for 27 hours. I think its past time that I went to bed. Still, I don't think I've done too terribly bad. I only got about 1600 words written for NaNoWriMo today, so I haven't caught up by any means, but I did manage to get most of the way past one of the major sticking points. It was a scene early on in the novel that I put in specifically to prove to myself that I was up to the challenge I had set myself. If I couldn't get that simple scene to work, the rest of the novel was pointless to write.

It has taken me all day to get half-way through it, but its actually starting to flow. I am now confident that I can finish the thing, and continue with the novel. Yay me.

For my next trick I shall attempt to sleep for 12-14 hours and awake early enough tomorrow to be able to claim that I have rotated my hours, but not so early that going to the NaNoWriMo meetup will be out of the question. At least, that's the plan.

First though, slumber!

With the average daily quota only being 66 words more, you definitely did good today!

As I told [livejournal.com profile] taxlady in the car last week: no matter how many words you achieve it will be more than you had before November 1. Succeeding in reaching 50K is great, but not making it isn't a failure. Just by trying, you win.

(Those aren't my exact words granted. I polished them a bit.)
