The maniac CEO has just announced that no one is going home until a particular bug is fixed. A bug I am not working on, and have nothing to do with. Am seriously considering saying "I Quit!" and walking out.
As long as he insists on you being there you should take a loooong nap... right on his desk! ;-)
Can he even make such demands? I mean... if you've been working for at least 8 hours there's got to be some kind of limit to what he demands of you. Especially if it's not something you work directly on. Then his forcing you to stay seems more like an act of imprisonment to me.
He can't really make such demands. Well, he can, but he can't really enforce them -- not with anyone who's worked there more than 3 months. During the first 3 months you can fire someone without just cause. My 3 months end this week. After that, he would potentially have to justify his firing decision if I made a fuss. So, for the rest of the week, I'm screwed.
I hope you make it past your 3 months. I really do. If only to just be able to walk out the next time asshat makes such a demand. Missed you last night. Did you get my email w/ regards to Nexy coming to Montreal next Friday?
Yes. Finally figured out you are one of those evil folk who make a distinction between 'this Friday' and 'next Friday'. Those mean the same to me, unless its Friday.
Anywho, I'll do my damnedest to be there on the sixth. I need me some Nancy time!
Oops. Should have mentioned. Linda is not a big time fan of Poker and other card games, but is more than willing to show up and play, just for the social interaction.
This Friday is the Friday on or after this day. Next Friday is the Friday on or after the next day. Thus, if today isn't Friday, these both mean the same thing...
At least that's how I was taught. I know it differs from place to place. *shakes fist at the gods of futility*
Yeah, it's like when you count down to a date... some people count the day they start counting, as well as the day of the date they are counting down to... Makes little sense to me to count today in the count down... but I always count the day I am counting down to... some people do not count either. I used to think that it was a geographical thing... which is likely still... but I find that scary scientific/mathematic type people, etc. often do things, uhm, differently. Then again, so do the artsy fartsy people...
Anywho, I think I did include the date of the Friday, just to be sure there was no ambiguity... didn't I?
