Deja Dinner
Apr. 23rd, 2005 12:07 amI had a wonderful time going to dinner tonight with joenotcharles and kyotto. We went to a Jamaican restaurant on Bishop called "Mango Bay" that is definitely worth a re-visit. The service is not fast (there is even a sign on the wall announcing that) but the food was most excellent.
There was something else I noticed shortly after I sat down. The premises are the exact same ones where I used to eat regularly with
_sps_ back when it was called "El Cayote" and was a mexican restaurant. The decorations have mostly been replaced, but the layout is exactly the same, as is the weird half-wall that encloses one section.
The last time I ate at El Cayote I had plantain for the first time.
_sps_ pronounced it quite good for plantain, but I was not impressed. Today, I had plantain for the second time, as it was one of the ingredients in my Jamaican stir-fry. It was YUMMY! I think this bodes well for the place.
