Work Downtime.
Apr. 13th, 2005 10:48 amI got into work today and since I had finished my last set of tasks, pulled up my automated task list thingy to see what I should work on next. There were 12 items on the list, and all except for the last couple were of the WTF category. I asked my boss for some clarification and he too was amazed. He says they were all items that slipped into the todo pile before we had standardized how our todo system should work. As a result, I have about 8 unactionable items, and 4 ultra-low priority wash-the-dog-first items. Since some of these low priortiy items are multi-day jobs, and he doesn't want me diverted for that long, I've been asked to hold on for an hour or so while he goes through the backlog of suggested todo items in HIS box and assigns them to people. In the meantime, I have some downtime. Blessed downtime, how I've missed you!
