Self-Heating Coffee
Dec. 21st, 2004 01:37 pmI just read and article on self-heating coffee that should be coming to a grocery store in the near future. As far as I can tell from the scant description, the heat is generated by mixing quicklime and water in a separate compartment of the cup. Now, what the world REALLY needs is an instant coffee with a water-activated heat-releasing chemical mixed in. Just pour the powder into any old container, add water and POOF hot coffee! Okay, I can imagine problems with idiots eating the stuff straight, but that can probably be handled by having large warning stickers on the foil packages the stuff comes in.
