That's exactly what my little cat's feet sound like too, except there's also the thumpathumpathumpa as she hurtles down the stairs at breakneck speed.

Cats are good at thumpathumpathumpa. I once lived in an apartment with a very long corridor and three cats. One day the neighbours asked, what was that noise, were there a whole lot of people walking back and forth in your apartment? I said, my cats. They had a very hard time believing that three cats could sound like an entire herd of running elephants.

I believe it, since I'm fully aware of how much noise one ten-pound cat can make.
