Awake, or something.
Sep. 11th, 2004 03:00 pmWell, I guess I'm awake. My Alarm went off at 11:00 am, and I dragged myself out of bed at 12:30, but I'm still in the process of waking up. I ended up spending much of last night reading through some of my friends old LJ posts, from before I friended them.
Still, I feel somewhat better today. A bit more energetic (only a bit though), which is good, because I have a bunch of financial research to do which I've been putting off forever. In fact, it was originally due LAST tuesday, but K kept calling and putting off the meeting, so I kept putting off doing the work. The current plan is to have the meeting on Monday morning, so I had best do the research today.
Most of tomorrow is going to be taken up by traipsing through IKEA with a bunch of friends, so I won't have a chance to do the work then. Its going to be a Bed/Mattress Testing/Hunting expedition, and should be fun. I do enjoy IKEA, and desperately need a new bed and mattress. (If anyone wants to join in the Traipsing, just let me know. The more the merrier.)
I can't actually BUY anything right now, of course, but my hopes for the Avionics company have picked up a bit this week, so I'm trying to be cautiously hopeful. I get more work done that way. The new information I got, that changed my outlook, was the last name of the 'Potential Investor' who may want to give us money. I did a bit of googling and discovered that, rather than being a small agent working for an avionics conglomerate, he's president and a full partner. This means he has far more clout and possible access to ready cash than I had deemed likely.
Why 'K' hadn't told me this earlier, I dunno. I think K has trouble figuring out what he knows that he hasn't told people. I'll ask him a question, and he'll tell me that he'll go find the answer, but once he has the answer, he assumes I already know it, because he does. It makes for unproductive meetings and I often feel like I'm a member of the Inquisition, because I have to keep asking the same questions, as many different ways as possible, before I get an answer that contains any useful facts. I don't think K is trying to hide anything. I just don't think we speak the same language when we try to communicate. Its something we're both going to have to work on.
