If anyone has been trying to send me e-mail and having trouble lately, you can use my alternative address of sti@wiznet.ca

That address is working perfectly, and is the place that sti@pooq.com is currently funnelled to as well.

As for what's wrong with sti@pooq.com?  As far as I can tell, nothing right now. Email to me should work fine, but I suspect that there are a LOT of non-conformant mail systems out there, so until DNS caches all reset, there could be intermittant trouble.

Yeah, what happened is that I'm currently working to set up a backup mail server for if the first one ever goes down. I inadvertantly put the backup mail server's address in my DNS listing, before it was working. Its since been removed, but anyone who tried to mail me during that interval probably has the non-working backup address in their DNS cache until it times out.

What that means is that some mail servers will randomly choose to send mail to the backup server rather than the main server. (As far as I can tell, this is going against the mail delivery standard, but so what else is new?) Anyway, the backup is currently not working yet, and so any attempt to send mail to it fails. Now, again as far as I can figure by the standard, they should silently fail over to the main server, but as you can see, that hasn't been happening.

Any mail that I send to myself from any one of my 5 or 6 external email accounts gets to me successfully every time, so its tough to guess when the problem is really gone, or not. Anyway, I did recently get mail from you about shoelace knot-tying, so maybe its working now.
