Yesterday
taxlady and I went through a bunch of junk that we had stored under the upstairs sink and threw out half of it. The sorting was necessitated by the breaking of a large bag of borax that spilled over everything and the only way to clean it up was to haul it all out and clean it off. The fact that we threw half of it out I attribute entirely to the fact that
taxlady has been watching a lot of "Clean Sweep" on television, and is tried to mend her pack-rat ways.
Anyway amongst the various jetsam (that we jettisoned) and the flotsam (that we flottisoned -- er, kept) and not even mentioning the ligan... where was I? Oh yeah, we found the 95% DEET! This is the only known thing that keeps skeeters away from my flesh. So, when my sweetie asked me to go for a walk tonight, I no longer had the excuse of minature vampires to use. So, we went for a walk, and decided to stroll down by the lake, although it was already past sunset, and getting dark. I'm very glad we chose to do that though, because the woods were alight with fireflies! I've never seen fireflies before, but they were lighting up the woods all along the paths we took. It was very pretty, so we ended up going for quite a long walk in the very muggy weather and I got back drenched in sweat. Still, I'm very glad I saw the glowing bug butts!
