I just woke up. I crashed last night around 6:00 pm. I was just too tired to keep my eyes open. I slept nine hours, but I feel like I needed 12. I'm still dead tired. However, after tossing and turning for 40 minutes, it became clear that I wasn't going to fall back asleep, no matter how tired I feel. So, I suppose I'm starting my day now.

My guess is that the tired is what I shall call 'environmental exhaustion'. I'm not used to this heat, and although we have A/C and its quite nice in the house I spent two days visiting folks and wandering around in the heat when it first hit, and I think I strained my heat-regulation dohickey. I found I spent most of yesterday dead tired and cringing at the thought of going outside, much as one cringes at the thought of lifting something heavy the day after doing too big a work-out at the gym.

Seriously, going from single-digit temperatures to record-breaking heat in a week is not something one should expect to endure.

So, although I was awake I was incredibly tired this morning. Eventually I gave up and crawled back into bed around 9:00 am and slept until noon. I'm still tired, but not as amazingly tired as I was.

There is an online PDF comic that is very pro consumer copyright reform and shows how copyright lobbies in the USA are working hard to get Canadian legislation passed to remove what few intellectual property rights that Canadians still have left. It fully annotated with hyperlinks to support its arguments and to rebuttals of politicians it quotes.
