Not according to plan.
Apr. 9th, 2008 06:42 amToday is a big day since
tepintzin and
americanstd are in town for
tepintzin's doctoral defense. After the successful (I'm sure) defense, we're heading out for supper and then they'll be coming back here to stay for a couple of days.
I have to be out of the house by 12:30 if I want to see the defense, so I needed to get up no later than 11:00 am today. I figured that was a bit of a stretch since I've been getting up between noon and 1:00 the last few days.
So, with the help of a large meal and half a bottle of wine, I hit the sack around 11:00 pm last night in the hopes that I would get 8-ish hours of sleep upon finally falling asleep. Instead, I immediately conked out, slept seven hours, and woke up at 6:00 am and couldn't fall back asleep. (and that last sentence clearly shows that I've lost control of the past subjunctive tense... I should look it up).
So, now I'm awake several hours earlier than expected, and have to actually plan what I'm doing between now and noon, rather than just running around getting ready and rushing out the door in a cloud of chicken feathers.
But first, coffee and comics, since my brain is still too asleep to plan anything.
