Meet Mom, Mom and Dad.

Scientists have recently succeeded in creating an embryo using the genetic material from THREE parents, one man and two women. The method was devised as a way to prevent the transmission of genetic diseases transmitted through mitochondrial DNA (which is inherited exclusively from the mother). The nuclear DNA from one woman is mixed with the mitochondrial DNA of the second, before in vitro fertilization takes place.

Cayoose?

I could use some help from the various word wonks on my friends list. Today I heard the word 'cayoose' (which is how I presume its spelled) in reference to a riding horse. In the context I assume its some sort of slang term from the old west. Can anyone tell me exactly what it meant? Both Google and Wikipedia have been of no help at all in working this out.
