Off to my interview in a few minutes, but first: High-Heeled Swim Fins. Work Safe, but truly bogglesome.
Interview Update.
Aug. 29th, 2007 01:23 pmBack from my interview. Not friends-locked because there's nothing secret in this.
From the closing comments I heard, it seems it went better than I was thinking it was going. I turn out not to be the man for the job they were looking to fill, but they're interested in possibly hiring me anyway. They need to speak to other candidates first. Thus, I should (hopefully) get an offer by Monday.
So, it seems that today I doubled my chance of having a job in September. (Pedantic Stats: Okay, actually I roughly squared the chances of NOT having a job in September, but you get what I meant.)

Meant to post this earlier.
Aug. 29th, 2007 01:41 pmThere is now a law in China that says you cannot legally reincarnate without a special permit.
In another 10 minutes or so, we'll have to catch
sucha to put in a cat carrier and take to the vet. I'm very anxious to find out what is wrong with her. I'm hoping its just something that can be fixed with antibiotics or something but I have no idea. We may have to leave her overnight for observation, or they may be able to do something right away. Of course, there's also the chance that whatever is wrong is terminal, and she won't be coming back at all.
The stress is turning me into a complete wreck.

Well, we're back from the vet and its looks like
sucha has mouth cancer. Its almost certainly terminal. We were given some anti-inflamatories and antibiotics to control secondary infections, but they're just going to provide a bit of relief. They took blood samples to see if she also has liver and/or kidney damage, because its not even possible to confirm the (very slim chance) that the cancer is benign without putting her under, and they can't do that if she doesn't have healthy liver and kidneys.
If we do nothing, she may last another few weeks, but she's going to be in constant pain if we do that. We'll know more about our options when we get the bloodwork back on Friday, but it seems very likely that we'll have to put her down.
