Upon returning from Sandy's Grad Bash I found I had the first mosquito bite of the season. And the 2nd, 3rd, fourth, fifth and so on up to ... 12 or so, I think.

More Normal than Thou!

Eliezer S. Yudkowsky has written two interesting essays. The first, transhumanists don't need special dispositions, explains how the transhumanist point of view is perfectly reasonable and simply derives from a love of life, and a desire to have everyone live as long, as healthily and as happily as possible. Is this not normal?

Its seems so to me. In fact, transhumanism is just humanism, with some of the unneeded encumbrances removed. Life is good. Can I have some more, please?

Make Love Not War.

In case you hadn't heard, the USAF was looking into the possibility of making a Gay Bomb -- a chemical that would make enemy combatants both homosexual and horny, in the hopes that this would keep them too busy to mount a serious defense.

Proposed military technology has been the basis of more than one major movie, and so it seems with this one, only this will be Gay Bomb: The Porn Flick. According to the studio, which is set to start work on it this November:
