No, I'm not Jewish, but sometimes it seems that Yiddish is the language that best expresses my mood. I could NOT sleep last night. I went to bed and tossed and turned until something like 4:00 am. Since my alarm was set for 8:00 am, you can see I've not had much sleep. Still, I need to see a man about a dog this morning, and in just over an hour, so I've dragged myself out of bed.

I'm just glad I set the meeting in a nearby coffee shop. A bit of food in me and a large cafe-au-lait should go a long way towards making me alert enough to not seem like an idiot. Why is it that I'm more likely to get insomnia when I'm hoping to impress someone with my wit and intellect?

Sometimes its nerves, but that wasn't the problem last night. Nope, my brain just refused to stop thinking about projects and ideas and things to write and do. I couldn't get it to slow down enough to let me sleep.

Its spring fever, I tell you. And if that's true, then why did the weatherman say on the radio that it was going to start snowing today, and not stop before MONDAY??!!

The title is a paraphrase of something Calvin said in a strip once, when the gravity failed and he floated up to the ceiling. I'm feeling somewhat similar.

I had an interesting meeting this morning. No idea if anything will come of it for not. Its something I will need to follow up. It would have helped had I been more awake. Still, I ended up with a few names and numbers of folks who know tech marketting and might be willing to cut some sort of deal with me. I may well be looking into that in the near future.

Meanwhile, I've only had 4 hours sleep so I'm bubling over with creativity, but don't have the ability to focus or get anything done. I suspect today might just be a good day to slack off and catch up on some reading (if I can concentrate enough).

I'll probably hit the sack early and be up even earlier. Tomorrow I'll be heading into town and could conceivable meet with folks during the day (I'm busy from roughly 6:00 pm onwards), if anyone is interested.

Well, that's about it for me for today. I've stayed awake about as long as I reasonably can on willpower and early-morning megadoses of coffee.

Now I shall start the long and involved process of letting my body know that, after telling it all day that I must not sleep, now it is allowed to sleep. With any luck I'll be snoozing within the hour. Tomorrow morning will start bright and early, as I have a breakfast meeting planned with [livejournal.com profile] kalkuly. I'll be downtown all day because, along with other stuff, I'll be meeting [livejournal.com profile] joenotcharles for a free movie showing of "V for Vendetta" at 6:30 pm.

Lets just hope I remember to take out the recycling before I head out.
