Grey Day.

I used to hate grey and rainy days. That all changed sometime around 1999 when we had a very harsh winter and I found the month of grey rainy days that ended it to be a sweet relief. So now, sometimes, I find them very calm and restful.

Today seems to be one of those days. Looking out my office window at the bare tree branches against a slate sky, I keep feeling an urge to go somewhere and sip coffee where I can stare at the sky through a large window, rather than this little one.

I may just do that later.

Where did the day go? It seems I'm just getting up one moment and then the next thing I know, its bedtime.

It turns out that the Laotian kha-nyou is known in paleolithic circles as a member of the Diatomyidae, a group of rodents previously thought to have become extinct over 11 million years ago. This will be a great opportunity to see how accurate fossil reconstructions of ancient animals are, now that there are actual specimens to compare against.

My Home phone number within area code 514 is the 625480th through 625487th digits of PI, inclusive.

My cell phone number (same area) is the 3,247,485th through 3,247,491st digits of PI, inclusive.

(That's only counting the decimal part, and starting the counting with 1. Thus the '4' in 3.14...., is the second digit.)

To find your own geek number facts (or decode mine) go to the pi search engine.

I just read this blog rant about which programming languages to learn. The interesting thing is that I 99.44% agree with the rant, but I don't know Ruby. So maybe its time I took a look at it.
