Rip Off.

I just stumbled across the journal of [livejournal.com profile] dashi, and as I was rather taken by some of the pictures he's posted, I'm linking to a couple below:

Oh, I should point out that these images are work safe, but some in his journal are not.

Don't click to not see. )

Had to post one more image:

A Dog Imitating a Duck... )

I blame [livejournal.com profile] lesnuages. During our Solstice party, she mentioned a liking for Chococcinos to [livejournal.com profile] taxlady. [livejournal.com profile] taxlady was forced to admit that she'd never worked out how to make one on our cappuccino maker. Well, now she's downstairs experimenting to figure out how to do just that. Being herself, she's adding rum, of course. For a first try, the Rum Chococcino came out quite good

I woke up not long ago. My sleep has been very irregular lately (I know, not really news.)

Monday I woke up at 6:00 am, and somehow was not able to fall asleep until 7:00 am the next morning. Then I slept in until 6:00 pm, getting myself 11 hours of sleep and the beginnings of a migraine.

Now that I've successfully medicated myself with 222s and caffeine, I'm starting my day.  Due to prior commitments, I shall be heading downtown early on the Wednesday morning and will spend it puttering around until meeting [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ for lunch. After that, I shall most likely make my way home and get some sleep. We shall see how it goes.

Should anyone wish to see me tomorrow morning, it should be easy to arrange, just let me know.

If Only

If only I could teleport -- or at least if I lived downtown -- I would be on my way to Hatterz. I got invited to go tonight, and as both [livejournal.com profile] blacksquiggles and [livejournal.com profile] thebabynancy are going, it would have been fun. Only, I woke up late and didn't notice the invite until recently. It would now take me over two hours to get there, and so it may well be over by the time I arrived -- I have no idea what people's schedules are like.

The worst part is, for once I wouldn't have to head home early, since my plans would be to stay until everyone left, then go have breakfast, then head for the library, etc... No going home involved. Bah.

Now for most folks, not getting to go to a bar is no big thing, but please bear in mind:

  • I never, ever went to bars when I was young. Its all a very new thing for me. In fact, it was only last year that I finally worked out that what made bars fun was going with friends you liked. Up until then, my few ever attempts to check them out were lonely and miserable.
  • I was never invited to go anywhere like that when I was young. Just getting an invite is a novel thing, and I would hate to have them stop coming because I never go.
  • I'm currently feeling starved for social company. Our solstice party was fun, but it was the only part I 'went' to this year where I got to meet my friends.
