Slowly Gaining Ground.

The new modem arrived today, without instructions of any kind. I don't even have a manual for this things. Anyway, I plugged it into the back of creaky, the router, fired it up, and VOILA! high speed internet. Thus proving that my old modem really was the culprit, despite its diagnostics reporting that everything was okay.

The only problem with the current lan is that for some reason Webigail is not talking to anyone. I suspect that I somehow borked its comm configuration while I was trying to get it to dial out (F'rinstnace I know I have slip0 permanently up due to a bad shutdown of diald, and I have no idea how to undo that...)

So, I'll now go and see if I can't convince the mail/news server to go online.
