YAWN!

I HATE having to get up at stupid-o-clock. I was up at 4:30 am this morning, which shouldn't ever be allowed, never mind mandatory. Still, if I want to get to the passport office by 7:30 am, I don't have much choice. Its either get up stupidly early and catch the first rush-hour bus or be prepared to wait in line for several hours at the passport office. *grumble*

Oh well, at least its car-free day downtown, so that will be an interesting sight. I'm also most likely meeting [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ for breakfast or brunch (depending on his schedule), so it should be a good day, despite the hour at which it started.

Made it to the passport office by 7:20 this morning, 10 minutes before they opened. As a result, I was 4th in line to pick up my passport, and I was out of there by 8:40. I then had a leisurely breakfast and a leisurely stroll to a coffeeshop where I read for a bit until [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ showed up.

We spent the next several hours chatting, and then went for lunch. I got to try the salty, spicey tofu that [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ loves so much, and though I didn't fall in love with it, I found it most edible, as was the chicken with veggies we had. There was enough food to stuff both of us, and the final bill was (with tip) around $12. Pretty damn good deal.

After that, we wandered down to meet [livejournal.com profile] azrhey while she took a half-hour break from work, and she lent me some books to read on the trip. MUST NOT START READING UNTIL TUESDAY! WILLPOWER, WILLPOWER,...

Then [livejournal.com profile] _sps_ and I caught a rush hour bus back to my place where we now are. He's tooling around on the website, trying to get its gibblets to line up or something, while my brain is rapidly fading, so I'll probably head off to bed in the near future.

Tomorrow, S will be joining us, and we'll do something or other. Not sure what. I'll worry about that tomorrow.

I am happy I have friends who try to keep me busy so I don't miss [livejournal.com profile] taxlady so badly. It all helps.

[livejournal.com profile] taxlady and I have very different cleaning styles. Given the choice, she would rather wash and clean than put things away, and I would choose the opposite.

These should be complementary styles, and our house should be sparkling as a result. Instead we just seem to get demotivated by each other's unwillingness to deal with what we each consider to be the major household eyesores...

Anyway, I've been noticing lately that I've been having to put the kitchen scissors away, A LOT. Its been driving me buggy, but I never mentioned it, despite me having to put them away sometimes two or three times in one day.

Well, now [livejournal.com profile] taxlady is not even in this country and I am STILL finding that I have to put them away two or three times every day. Somehow, I'm beginning to suspect that she isn't the culprit.

When I find out which of the cats are leaving the scissors out, there'll be hell to pay!
