Sometimes I see a posting in someone else's journal and it reminds me of a friend. In this case [livejournal.com profile] fordcov's post reminded me of [livejournal.com profile] tepintzin who is known to love a certain group of hamsters. (But who lives with a cat ([livejournal.com profile] badira) far too important to put up with this kind of nonsense.)

I'm working for another startup. I knew that going in. So, when I found out today that the mild crisis of earlier this week is now a major crisis, I can't say I was terribly shocked or alarmed. So, here I am at work, trying to remotely configure a network on the other side of the continent, so that we can set up a test run of our software, so that we can claim we tested it before it gets installed on site on Monday night.

Not good timing I think, but I haven't been here long, and so I don't know the backstory. It may be all our fault. It may not be. I don't plan to ask until things are no longer in panic mode.

Anyway, the upshot is that I'm working late, and I'll probably put in work on the weekend. The stupid thing is that I'm thoroughly enjoying this. I feel needed for the first time in quite a while, and I've always enjoyed working late into the night. The only problem comes when I'm expected to work 9-5 the day after. In this case, I'll probably need to be in at the usual time monday, and may end up working late monday night (since that's when the client install is due.)

Anyway, I should get back to work. I only had time to write this since I waiting for someone to check some cables at the remote site.
