Well, we did it. It took much of the day but we managed to shift around a bunch of chairs, bicycles and various junk until we had enough room to rotate the credenza 90 degrees, wedge paint cans under it (so we could reposition the dollies it was laying on), rotate it another 90 degrees and push it into a barely-large-enough space in [livejournal.com profile] taxlady's office. So she now has the credenza that we went through so much trouble to get in a postion where it is actually usable. This also means that it is actually possible to get to the washer and dryer and the hot-water heater nestled in the corner between them.

Since we also finally had access again to the area under the stairs where we store old boxes, and seeing as tonight is one of the nights when we can put out recycling, we spent another hour sorting through the boxes and discarding 99.44% of them. By then we barely had time to have a quick sponge bath and head out the door to drop off our shop-vac at a friends house before picking [livejournal.com profile] thothmeister up on our way to the LJ Meetup.

The meetup was a fun, if small, afair and broke up around 10:30 pm, which was fine by me since I have been up since 5:00 am this morning. We got home, hauled the boxes out to the curb, and had some quick bowls of home-made chicken-noodle soup.

Now, I think, its time I crawled into bed and got some shuteye. Its been a long and strenous day, but I've actually got a feeling of acomplishment for once.

Awake.

Awake again. Somewhat stiff and sore, but I have coffee so I will survive.

I broke my favorite mug this morning; my big blue coffee tankard of doom. It was full and I knocked it off of the coffee table so it smashed on the floor and sent a pint of coffee all over the papers scattered under the table. I had to scramble to gather papers and blot the mess, and while doing so I cut myself on one of the sharp shards of the cup.

I never really managed to wake up today, and now I'm having trouble falling asleep. It doesn't help that my scalp is itching like crazy. My hair generates enough oil that I need to shampoo at least every other day, and preferably every day. Since we don't have hot water, it hasn't been given a good cleaning since just before the party last sunday.

Oh well, the workmen are scheduled to show up tomorrow between 12:00 and 3:00, so I should be able to give it a propper cleaning tomorrow. In the meantime though, it itches enough to make it hard to sleep, but I'm about to go give it another try.

Good Night!
