I wonder what today has in store for me. Yesterday was a bit of a bummer, mood wise. We'll just have to see about today. At least there are blue skies and actual sun visible from my office window. Every little bit helps.

According to this article, Tyra Banks admits she stripped naked in her seat while on an airline flight from London to New York City.

I've been thinking on-and-off for some time about the possibility of setting up a discussion board with a scoring and reputation system for people in a local geographic area to talk about (and rate) things happening in that area.

Click Here to see the whole thing... )Anyhow, thats as far as my thinking has taken me, and I have a feeling I'm missing some important ideas here. Anyone see what they might be?

As a bunch of my friends know, I'm partially red/green colorblind, a disability I share with 10% of the world's male population. Its one of the things that got me interested in user-interface design, since its so often done wrong that I end up cursing the designer of controls I can't use or can't read.

I posted about all this a while ago, when [livejournal.com profile] azrhey sent me a link to a nifty site that shows you what things look like to me. The 'normal' images and the 'deuteranopia' images look identical to me. Anyway, she just sent me another link to a nifty site that allows you to filter other sites so as to see what they look like to folks with various types of colorblindness. Recommended for those of you who do work with user interfaces.

(SIGH, and this is yet another thing that NWO would do to make my life easier. Rather than asking every web designer code for the lowest common denominator, my NWO browser would simply know about my disability and recolor consistently on the fly. Of course, to do that correctly, you need a very different mark-up system than HTML provides.)
