Today was a good day. I spent it hunched over a terminal getting a tan. I did research on all sorts of disparate things, from ACH networks to 1-976 numbers to what NASDAQ stands for.

There was one thing that I didn't manage to find though. If any of my friends know where I can look for it on the net, 'twould be appreciated: Phone-in poll statistics.  Now, I *know* that phone-in polls are not statistically signifigant, that's not what I need. What I need are statistics on who uses them, how many polls do folks run at a time, what kind of vote volumes they get in response to different question categories, and what the phone company charges as a disincentive for multiple-voting.  Any and all information along these lines would be appreciated. Heck, anything that even helps me figure out where to look would be of great assistance.

yes, I am awake now. I got up around 1:30 pm, and have been doing various waking-up type stuff ever since.

I'm not feeling too well today. I'm not in as bad a state as poor [livejournal.com profile] azrhey has been for the last 36 hours or so, nor even as bad as [livejournal.com profile] denizsarikaya was yesterday. In fact, I'm not even as sick as the last time I got a bad migraine, but that's not to say I feel good.  I've got a throbbing headache which keeps coming and going, and a queasy stomache that keeps threatening to perform an emergency purge cycle at any time.

One difference between working on a project at home and one at some worksite, is that here I can darken the room, turn off all sounds and KNOW that I'm less than a dozen steps from a toilet, should that ever be a sudden urgent need. Had I had a regular 9-5 job right now, I would have called in sick. As is, I'm still working on my latest project, as an attempt to distract myself.

As if the title wasn't enough of a clue, then I should point out that visiting the Icelandic Phallological Museum while at work, may not be terribly swift if you live in a puritanical country, like the USA.

I must admit the idea of a large collection of penii hung like hunting trophies on the wall, is something I find somewhat disturbing.

And, uh, yeah, this was all just part of the online research I was doing. Yeah, research, that's the ticket, research.

Actually, I'm feeling much better now. My tummy started to feel okay and my head got to the point where it was merely threatening to hurt. Then I got hungry so I made me and [livejournal.com profile] taxlady a very late breakfast.

So now I'm full and happy.
