So, although H the B has yet to get back to me about switching the website from his server to mine, and the sink is still plugged, I am feeling pretty good today. Partly its because I now feel like I'm waiting on someone else, rather than sitting around feeling that I'm insufficiently productive. Partly its because, while looking for some other CD, I found my copy of Dragon Half and, better yet, a Music CD I burned 3 years ago, and promptly lost. At the time it represented 1/3 of my total MP3 collection, and was burned because I had to reformat a partition. Over the last 3 years I've managed to find and download about 1/3 of the songs on that CD, but having the others back is a major boon. Finally, on the financial front, it seems that several financial institutions have conspired together to increase my various credit limits. I suddenly find that, rather than having all of my sources of credit maxed out, I instead have something like 4 months take-home-pay of credit left. This means that if I haven't found a job in 6 weeks when my EI runs out, it will just be bad rather than disasterous.

I always find that I'm more productive when there isn't so much pressure on me to BE productive, so I hope this helps things along!

According to a large number of newspapers, Bush has admitted that he was planning to invade Iraq from the day he took office, and was just looking for a good excuse.
More info can be found here, among other places.

I am sooooo sleepy! I was planning on hitting the sack around 1:00 am, 2:00 at the latest. Then I decided to do one little thing... [livejournal.com profile] taxlady asked me today if I could print out a map of our kitchen with dimensions or a scale or something. She knew I had measured our house and stored the data into Autocad ages ago. I guess great minds think alike, because it was my Autocad CD that I was searching for earlier when I found my other lost CDs. I never did find the Autocad CD, but I found an ISO for it on my backup harddrive, which was good enough. So, I reinstalled Autocad (I hadn't bothered since switching to XP) , and spent the next three hours trying to remember how to select part of a drawing to print, how to set print parameters and how to make a grid display under the drawing. Its all coming back to me now. Then again, I learned Autocad on a 16 MHz machine, back when it was V10.0, I think. Its changed a bit since then.

Anyway, it all took longer than it should have, but I did manage to do what I was trying to do. There were many fancier ways I could have done the job, but I would still be puzzling over the commands to do it right now. I have handed the printouts to my SO, and I'm going to bed.  I will try VERY HARD not to think about the fact that I bought her a prybar today, and when I handed her the printouts she showed me the bits of floor she had levered up and removed. She's still at it down there. With any luck, she'll leave me enough floor to get to the kitchen in the morning, but there's no guarantee. She can get carried away with her new toys...

So, I've just barely started my day (although - Note to Self - I must phone H the B (as opposed to B the H) before he finishes HIS day...), and there was coffee waiting for me! And a Floor!

So that's good. Then I was surfing the net for some XP cache software and I found AIDA32 (freeware), which I strongly recommend for Windows folksen who want to identify exactly what hardware they're using. This puppy can tell me how many dram slots I have, what I have installed in each, and what the slot supports. It also has web links to the drivers for most of the bits of hardware it detected. I'm very impressed and I've just started playing with it.

Then, [livejournal.com profile] jenni_the_odd had to go and post a link to explicit sex with playmobile figures, so THAT made my morning... She also posted a wonderful link to an 'unorthodox' religious site...

Maybe its time I had some more coffee. Yes, it MUST BE, because @#$!! Livejournal refuses to respond so that I can post this missive.

In case anyone has been wondering what to get me for St. Bl_rg]H[isday Gifts, I could certainly use some more personal storage, and something to wear that not only can conceal all my electronics, but can recharge them as well.  That, and some nuclear knee socks, and I'll be all set!

It is now TOO COLD to go out and get the newspaper and mail barefoot, but it is not YET too cold to do so wearing only a bathrobe and slippers...
